Newport Harbor Island Resort Wedding

Margaret and Colin’s wedding day was nothing short of spectacular at the Newport Harbor Island Resort. Everyone began getting ready there overlooking the Newport Bridge and the goats - we were on Goat Island, after all. We traveled to the Elm’s for some beautiful portraits and an emotional first look. The anticipation was building up and Colin’s tearful reaction seeing Margaret for the first time was priceless. It’s moments like that which make our job so great!

Lisa and Alex make for a beautiful couple and their marriage was the final seal to combine their families. With Armenian, Greek and Albanian roots. They got ready separately then saw each other as Lisa walked down the aisle at the St. James Armenian Church in Watertown. They had a traditional ceremony with crowns and blessings from both the Orthodox and Roman Catholic priests. Once they were wed we all traveled to the Danversport Yacht Club for their reception.

Fairmont Copley Wedding in Boston

Katie and Kevin’s wedding will go down in the books as one of the most lighthearted and relaxed “big” weddings we’ve seen. Most weddings we see that are over 250 people involve complicated logistics and lots of stress. This wedding was planned by the couple to perfection and they didn’t show a hint of stress the entire day. The guys and the ladies began getting ready at the Fairmont Copley in separate rooms.

Liberty Hotel Boston Wedding

Christina and Justin wanted their wedding to be in the heart of Boston so they picked the Liberty Hotel, which has a rich history within the city. It was originally the Charles Street Jail in 1851 and has since been converted into a luxury hotel. They reserved the famous Ebersol suite, which has the most incredible view of Boston! They began getting ready separately and then met at the rotunda window for the first look. There were a few nerves before meeting but once they saw each other, those all melted away and they were so excited to officially begin the day.

World's End Engagement Session

Eddine and Christian picked World’s End as the spot of their engagement session for it’s beautiful views. I warned them ahead of time that it’s lot of walking to fully capture the natural beauty and they were all in. They even showed up in formal wear to go the extra mile! ! They had two incredible outfits and looked effortlessly stunning in every photo. They were helped by the Maid of Honor, Jen, who graciously carried all the clothes around. She definitely wins the MOH of the year award!

Gardens at Elm Bank Wedding

We drove over to Wellesley to the Gardens at Elm Bank. The rain had stopped by the time we got there so they decided to have the ceremony outside. It was blue skies all the way up until everyone walked down the aisle. As they began their vows, an ominous cloud suddenly came over and began pouring on the guests! We ran to give umbrellas to everyone as they continued their vows. As soon as the rain had come, it suddenly disappeared and out came the sunlight just before the first kiss! It truly was a magical moment that no one will forget.

Gloucester Beach Wedding

It’s hard to put into words the perfection of this day. Everything took place at an amazing house called the Sandcastle on a private beach in Gloucester. The Sandcastle has water surrounding three sides with a huge porch encircling it. All week long Saturday was supposed to be awful weather with fierce thunderstorms rolling through threatening to ruin the beach wedding. When we arrived, it was bright and sunny and everyone was so relaxed.

Mia's 1 Year Old Pie Smash

We don’t often post personal stories on the blog but this is a very special occasion. Little Miss Mia Pie turned 1 year old on July 1st and to commemorate this special occasion, we decided to do something a little out of the ordinary. Most people have heard of cake smashes but we wanted to personalize it a bit more. Her nickname is “Mia Pie” and her favorite treats are berries. So Mama Emilie decided to bake a mixed berry pie and let her go to town. In typical Mia fashion, she didn’t hold back from enjoying her delicious birthday surprise!

Royal Sonesta Boston Summer Wedding

Leah and Rich got married on a beautiful summery Saturday in June at the Royal Sonesta Boston. They began getting ready in separate rooms - both were having a great time with their bridal parties and were nothing but excited to begin the day. Once we were ready for the first look, we went down the elevators and in the time it took to get to the lobby, the sky had opened up to a surprise shower! We waited a few minutes then went outside. We spent the time taking photos looking out to the beautiful view before coming back inside for the ceremony.

Royal Sonesta Cambridge Wedding

What a whirlwind of a Saturday as we enjoyed the sunny and windy day at the Royal Sonesta Boston. Courtney (or Court as her friends call her) is one of the most relaxed and happy brides we have ever had the pleasure of photographing. She wasn’t big about formalities - she just wanted to have fun! No formal bridal party, just getting ready with her mom and her friends who were allowed to dress however they wanted. Alek was getting ready a few rooms down with his brother. They had a glass of champagne and quietly reflected on the day ahead. Alek didn’t look nervous at all. In fact, he talked about how he was had no nerves and was so excited to get the chance to marry his best friend.

Beauport Hotel and Hammond Castle Wedding

Jen and Grant had their first look on the deck of the Beauport, where they wiped away each other’s happy tears in an emotional moment. We then were whisked away to Hammond Castle to take photos. The Castle itself looks to be straight from Scotland, which coincidentally matched perfectly with Jen’s roots - her father was in his family’s tartan kilt and her mom matched with a beautiful broach. Even more unusual is the tropical courtyard within the walls where it feels like you’ve been transported to Bermuda. We had such a wonderful time exploring the castle and then took the ride back to the Beauport.

Newburyport Engagement Session

There’s not much I need to say about this gorgeous Newburyport engagement session I had with Robyn and Andrew. The light was perfect, the locations were dreamy, their outfits were on point and their joy shines through in every photo. We began at Maudslay State Park, where the rhododendron trees were in full bloom. Around each corner there was one stunning sight after another.

Shining Tides Wedding in Mattapoisett

It’s been a brutal spring this year with consistent rain but the cold was nowhere to be seen for Colleen and Shawn’s beautiful Shining Tides wedding. This California couple brought the sun with them to grace New England with warm rays. Colleen began getting ready at Karma Salon with her girls. After that, they headed over to Shining Tides where she put on her dress and they had a sip of bubbly. Shawn was getting ready nearby at the Inn on Shipyard Park. The guys all had matching cuff links with their initials, such a thoughtful gift.

May the Fourth Renaissance Boston Patriot's Place Wedding

On May the 4th, Amanda and Michael got married at the Renaissance Boston Patriot’s Place Hotel and had their portraits taken at the nearby cranberry bog. Amanda is a self described "hyper planner". Having worked in the hospitality industry coordinating other people's events for a few years early in her career, she already had a taste for the planning world, so she was excited to turn the tables to work with her future husband and plan an event of her own, including all the extra details for flavor. The date of May 4th wasn't an accident. They love sci-fi in general, so getting married on a Star Wars day (May the "Fourth" be with you) was perfect. This lent well to a "northern lights" theme with sci-fi accents. From the beautiful cake to the Millennium Falcon guest book, everything was perfectly on theme.

Debbie + Scott | Hyatt Regency Cambridge Winter Wedding

You can trust Boston to be cold on January but Debbie and Scott made the whole day brighter with their fantastic wedding that took place on the top floor of the Hyatt overlooking Boston. The day began in their respective suites prepping for the day with their friends and family. The color palette was white, gold and emerald green. It was a color I haven’t often seen and it worked perfectly for an elegant winter wedding.

Glamorous Tupper Manor Fall Wedding

O&H live in Miami so coming up from Florida to New England in November was definitely a change of pace! New England fall colors were in full effect, which is exactly what they wanted for their big day. They began with an intimate ceremony on the beach under an arbor and surrounded by only their closest family members. With a cheer and a flurry of flower petals, they were off back to Tupper Manor so she could change into her second dress.

Maura + Matt | Mill 1 at Open Square Wedding

Winter weddings are often difficult for photographer due to low light, freezing temperatures and clients who would rather be inside. For Maura and Matt, the stars aligned to make it the perfect wedding day. They are both runners, along with most of their bridal party, so the cold temps didn’t deter us from being able to catch some gorgeous shots outside. Maura got ready at her parent’s house, along with her bridal party. Everyone was all smiles as they prepared for the big day. Matt and the groomsmen got ready in a nearby hotel and they all met at the church. Matt’s smile lit up as he saw Maura walking down the aisle to meet him. After their sweet ceremony, we headed over to the Ashley Reservoir, where Maura used to run. The big pine trees and frozen lake made the perfect backdrop for their photos. Maura even got matching gloves for her and her bridesmaids!
