On a beautiful, sunny day in Newport, Rhode Island, Margaret and Colin exchanged vows at the Newport Harbor Island Resort in a ceremony that was filled with love and emotion. The ceremony took place on the resort's breathtaking lawn, which offered panoramic views of the Newport Bridge and the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
Before the ceremony, the bridal party and the couple's family and friends gathered at the resort for some pre-wedding preparations. The guys and bridesmaids loaded into a stretch SUV, while Margaret and her Maid of Honor arrived in style in an antique Rolls Royce.
The first look between Margaret and Colin was a highlight of the day, with Colin tearing up as he saw his bride for the first time. The couple then took a tour of the grounds of the Elms, a stunning mansion in Newport, for some beautiful portraits.
HOW THEY MET
Colin and Margaret met during the summer after their Freshman year of college. Margaret invited some friends to spend the weekend at her grandparents house in Mystic, CT and Colin ended up coming with one of Margaret's high school friends. The two of them didn't start dating until their Junior year of college when their paths crossed again when Colin's college (Union) was playing Margaret's College (Quinnipiac). They reconnected then and spent a few weeks together before Colin very smoothly texted Margaret and said "He wanted to take her off the market before someone else did."
As the ceremony began, the thunderclouds that had been lurking in the distance dissipated, and the sun shone brightly on the happy couple as they exchanged vows. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt speeches, and the love between Margaret and Colin was palpable.
After the ceremony, guests headed to cocktail hour, where they enjoyed refreshing drinks and light appetizers while taking in the stunning ocean views. The reception took place in the resort's elegant ballroom, where the newlyweds shared their first dance and celebrated with their loved ones. The dancing was energetic and fun, thanks to the talented band, Night Shift.
As the night came to a close, Margaret and Colin headed off on their honeymoon to Iceland, a country known for its natural beauty and unique landscapes. It's clear that these two are perfect for each other, and we wish them all the happiness in the world as they begin their new life together.
