The first spring wedding of the season in finally here! Jessica and Truman knew they would be getting married on their original date no matter what. When initially planning their wedding, they were going back and forth between having a big guest list or only having immediate families and a few friends. So when they were forced to readjust their plans, it actually wasn’t as much of a heartbreak since they had been seriously contemplating having a tiny wedding to begin with.
Truman got ready at the couple’s home in Malden with his best friend, Josh while Jessica got ready at the Eliot Hotel in Boston with her sister, Jasmine. Not having tons of people in the rooms actually made everything very relaxed and stress free. Jasmine helped Jessica get on her beautiful dress and then it was time for their first look just downstairs in the lobby of the Eliot Hotel.
The Proposal Story
When Truman decided it was time to ask Jessica to marry him, he knew his proposal could take place only in one location: Disney World. Jessica has been a life-long fan of everything Disney and has frequently traveled there for vacation. The second time they went as a couple was when he wanted to pop the question and carefully planned out the day. It had to be in the Magic Kingdom in front of the iconic Cinderella Castle. Truman wanted to take some photos in front of the castle so Jessica gave her phone to the first person who walked by. Truman then popped the question. Jessica was in complete disbelief because she genuinely wasn't expecting a marriage proposal so she responded, "are you serious right now?" After getting a better look at the ring, she immediately took it out of it's box and slid it onto her finger herself. Thankfully Truman took that as her saying "yes". To this day, Jessica still feels bad that she did not technically say "yes". The few families who were close by cheered for them and she dragged Truman to guest services to force him to wear the button that says "Happily Every After" for the rest of the trip.
Jessica and Truman were originally planning on having their ceremony and reception at Alden Castle, however the pandemic made that impossible due to restrictions. They asked about outdoor alternatives and we suggested one of our all-time favorites - Larz Anderson park! With a lush green landscape and a beautiful diversity of architectural features, it was the perfect place for a small ceremony and portraits. When we first arrived, we walked around at the top of the hill before heading down to the pond for their ceremony.
Their small ceremony took place at the aptly named Temple of Love at Larz Anderson. Their officiant, Claire Miller, kept it short and sweet as they requested. With a kiss and a cheer, they were married! We took a few more portraits around the temple before heading off to a champagne toast and aperitifs at Jessica’s parents home in Needham.
We went to the back yard of Jessica’s parent’s home to find a beautiful table prepared with their cake by Russo’s with a “Happily Ever After” cake topper. The top was red velvet while the bottom was vanilla strawberry - simply delicious! They had matching champagne glasses with their names inscribed and next to it was a Cinderella carriage with gorgeous blooms. Jessica found a way to bring her love of everything Disney into her wedding in such a pretty and tasteful way. They had a sweet toast to their happiness surrounded by friends and family then cut the cake. Our final photos were with their “Happily Ever After” pins to bring it back full circle. This wedding was so magical and perfect in every way. We had such a wonderful time and enjoyed every second of it!
