Karen & Brian met unexpectedly through mutual friends while at an after work happy hour at J.J. Foley's in downtown Boston. They like to say the two of them met the old fashioned way - "drunk in a bar." They like to give their friends grief for eventually heading home and leaving the "strangers" alone but, they knew that something special had happened that night.
Their wedding day started off with family in Karen’s room getting ready with their sweet dog, Layla. Brian was anxiously waiting for Karen to finish wondering why it was taking so long! Finally Karen was ready (on time mind you) and they saw each other for the first time in the lobby. We drove to the Harborwalk by the courthouse for some portraits and then to Post Office Square for family photos. After that, we headed over to Mistral for the ceremony.
The ceremony was officiated by their friend, Preston, who had a few surprises up his sleeve to make their union unique. First he had 10 family and friends read aloud reasons they love each other and then he had the DJ play a snippet of Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline and had everyone join in! Mistral is a special venue and is known for their impeccable service and delicious food. It was the perfect spot for their intimate wedding with only their closest family and friends.
