They both got ready in the newly renovated Park Plaza hotel. They had their ceremony in the ballroom (the officiant also being their friend). As Rich saw Kristin walking down the aisle, he quietly wiped away the tears of joy as he saw his incredibly beautiful bride. Kristin looked absolutely stunning in her Pronovias gown with a lace shrug that buttoned down the back.
After their touching (and often funny) ceremony, we took the short walk to the Boston Public Gardens. Normally packed with people, this day seemed quite serene as we all took a walk around swan pond. Back to the Plaza is when everything really picked up.
They had a delicious meal with touching toasts, followed by parent dances. Kristin danced to a sweet song with her dad and then it was Rich and his mom's turn. They began slowly and then suddenly the music changed mid step, the lights switched to a club atmosphere and the salsa began. Everyone poured onto the dance floor and I kid you not, danced until almost midnight! No matter what your age, you were dancing all night.
We were wondering why they wanted us to stay until the end and now I know why. DJ Jimmie Espo called everyone into a big circle to place their hands on the couple, wishing them joy, congrats and a bright future ahead!
