deCordova Wedding in Lincoln
S&M had an incredible wedding weekend with everything taking place in Lincoln Massachusetts, the location of their home. They had their welcome party BBQ at the Codman Estate, their wedding day at the deCordova Sculpture Park, and their farewell brunch in their backyard by the pool. Everything was perfectly planned by Elizabeth Quill, of Elegant Aura Events. S&M got ready at their beautiful home, surrounded by their two families, their sweet baby S, two well-behaved dogs, and their lounging cat. When we arrived, M was going for a dip in the pool while S was getting her makeup done. S then put on her gorgeous dress, which was the perfect design for a garden wedding with intricate floral work. They opted to not have a very traditional day, so they got ready together and then headed over to the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, a short 5-minute drive away.
We took family photos around the heart sculpture then went up to the ceremony site on the sculpture terrace, overlooking the pond and beautiful natural landscape. Their ceremony was so warm and heartfelt, officiated perfectly by Reverend Nate Klug. With a kiss, they were wed with so much joy as they snuck away for a private moment on the roof deck. The cocktail hour began on the terrace with the golden sun streaming through the leaves. One of the best things was seeing the many fun activities, from Bubbles McGee for the kids to Bubbles and Brew for the adults, along with an incredible spread from Capers Catering.
We were then escorted inside the museum for the reception in the main art gallery. There were meaningful speeches given by the couple's sisters as well as the bride’s father and groom’s best man. The couple thanked everyone for coming at the end of the meal when a surprise dance troupe arrived to get people up off their seats and transition into the dancing tent. There, S&M had their first dance followed by their parent dances. Then the floor opened up and all the guests were having a wonderful time dancing to the live music of the Chicken Slacks. Inside the tent, there was an interactive canvas painting station, the Coffee Trike and a Crêpe station where they were cooking up some incredible bananas foster. This wedding had so many exciting interactive elements. The couple wanted to show their guests an amazing time and they succeeded in spades.
