Cape Cod Engagement Session
Julia and Sean will be getting married at the InterContinental Hotel in Boston’s seaport next August so clearly the ocean plays an important role in their lives. They chose to have their engagement session on the Cape since Sean's grandfather has a beautiful home there by the water and it's where they love to spend their summer weekends.
Sean's baby is his beautifully restored 1965 Ford Bronco. His antique car is a lot of fun to drive around Cape Cod beach towns with the top down so naturally, we used it as a prop (and mode of transportation!) for their session. We began at the historic Nobska Lighthouse that was constructed in 1829. It’s a popular spot for photos, not to mention it was the perfect beach day with lots of people around. We then drove to the Knob in Woods Hole nearby and walked through the forest to the beautiful lookout point. The sun was setting in the background, creating a beautiful orange glow. The entrance to the Knob is through the Quissett Yacht Club, where Sean is a member. We took some photos on the little dock overlooking the classic sailboats.
Finally we drove back to the beach across the street from Sean's Grandfather's home. They popped a bottle of champagne and danced around the beach just as the sun was dipping below the horizon. Watching the sunset over the water is a rarity on the east coast and it was such a treat as a photographer to be able to capture that! I had such a wonderful time exploring the coastline and can’t wait for their wedding next year.
