Beauport Hotel Gloucester Wedding

How can I write about perfection? From the very beginning to the very end, this day went absolutely perfectly. From the smallest of details to the big moments - like the gorgeous sailboat directly behind them as they shared their first kiss! Maggie grew up in Duxbury so she knew she wanted a beach wedding. After looking around the many south shore venues, a friend suggested she check out the Beauport. After having lunch there they decided it was a perfect fit for their nautical-themed wedding.

Maggie and Jono began getting ready at the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester. They were all smiles and tears as they shared their private first look on the deck before all their guests arrived. They then read vows to each other overlooking the water and both shed a few tears! We then all gathered together with the wedding party and their families and took the trolley over to Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester. It was an overcast day - the perfect lighting for sandy beach photos. We had a great time exploring the dunes and then headed back to the Beauport for their ceremony.

HOW THEY MET

Jono and Maggie met in Palm Beach at her cousin Denis and his wife Cat's wedding in 2016. It was a set up in the making where Maggie’s mom, aunt and Jono's mom all wanted to set them up (we were against that going into it -- who wants to be set up like that?!) Unexpectedly they hit it off at the after party and did long distance for 2 years (NY / Boston) and then Maggie finally moved to NY for a few years to be with him.

HOW HE PROPOSED

Jono proposed at Duxbury Beach, where Maggie grew up. He walked quite literally one of the longest wooden bridges in the world and at the end popped the question in July 2020 during her favorite holiday weekend - July 4th!

The ceremony took place on the deck of the Beauport overlooking the water. The sun just came out as Maggie was walking down the aisle. They exchanged rings and right before they kissed, they noticed a huge sailboat right off the coast watching along as well! They gave it a big wave then had their first kiss! What an incredible moment that everyone will never forget.

Their cocktail hour was beautiful as the sun was going down. Then we went inside for their reception. There were two surprises organized by the maids of honor (Maggie’s sisters) and the best man, Jono’s brother. Everyone had a good laugh and then we snuck out during dinner for the most epic sunset shots as the sky lit up a beautiful purple and pink. After dinner, dancing began in earnest with the amazing band, Beantown. A donut wall, ice cream and Espresso Dave all made an appearance, in lieu of cake.

Every time we’ve photographed at the Beauport Hotel, it’s a wonderfully joyful and perfect day. We wish Maggie and Jono a lifetime of happiness and seaside adventures!
