Maggie and Jon frequent Duxbury Beach and wanted a sunny and bright beachy engagement session. Unfortunately New England weather had other plans, as an unexpected thunderstorm rolled in right when we were to begin our session! Not to be deterred, the clouds made for a dramatic backdrop against the soft sands of the beach.

Maggie grew up in Duxbury so she knew all the pretty spots along the coastline. When it looked like the rain was about to come down with lightening all around, we hopped in the car and drove over to a dock overlooking the marsh and then a grassy park with a purple pebble rock leading to an overlook of the harbor. Finally after a quick outfit change, we went back to the beach just as the sunset light lit up the dramatic clouds. The session may not have gone as envisioned but in my mind, mother nature made it all the more beautiful. I can’t wait to photograph their beautiful wedding next year at the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester!
