Beauport Hotel and Hammond Castle Wedding in Gloucester

Steph and Joe got married at the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester this past weekend and it was nothing short of spectacular! There was not one moment of stress the entire day and it was clear from the get-go that they had such a true and everlasting love. They each began getting ready in separate rooms and were eagerly awaiting the moment they could see each other all dressed up. That moment came on the deck overlooking the ocean and Joe’s expression after seeing Steph for the first time was priceless.

We then took a bus over to Hammond Castle for photos around the epic beauty of the European Castle tucked away on Gloucester’s rocky coastline. We had ample time so we could make our way through the inner courtyard to the lawn and finally ending up at the open colonnade looking out onto the ocean. The view was spectacular the bridal party was having a blast with their good friend, white claw ;)

We then took the trip back to the Beauport for their heartfelt ceremony on the deck. Right as they were saying their vows to each other a sailboat passed by behind them at the perfect time. With a kiss they were off to join in their cocktail hour with their guests. The whole day had been overcast but there was a break in the clouds right at sunset when the sky suddenly lit up like fire. We took them outside by the beach to catch the magical golden glow of the sunset that was of the deepest orange I remember seeing in a long time. Finally the party began and there was even a moment when their guests lifted them up in celebration! Such a fun and memorable night filled with joy.

HOW THEY MET

Steph and Joe met during our first years working at Ernst & Young. Although never technically working together, they often sought each other out for advice on various projects. They shared same friend group at work and began hanging out at social events. After a few years of being friends, they both had developed feelings for each other and started dating.

ENGAGEMENT STORY

After four years of dating, and living together for a year, Joe knew it was time to finally ask the question, and purchased a ring. During a Memorial Day trip to his parent's house on Cape Cod, they took their usual after dinner walk down to the beach. At first, there were a few families still on the beach, which concerned Joe. Mustering up the courage, Joe proposed. Although Joe doesn't specifically remember asking, and Steph doesn't specifically remember saying yes, the ring ended up on Steph's finger and they celebrated the rest of the weekend with family and friends.
